Keystone is an upcoming FPS with Strategic Deck Building. It is being made by Digital Extremes, the same team that works on Warframe, which is quite popular on Steam. Read on to know more…

Digital Extremes made some quite famous games. One of the most popular of them being Warframe. However, they are making a comeback this year with yet another title. It will be a team based firstpersonshooter. As written on their website:

“The long-running success of Warframe has enabled us to build up a second internal team to create a wholly different but equally satisfying game concept that we’re really excited about,” Digital Extremes studio head Sheldon Carter said. “Keystone originates from our roots in the FPS world and mixing genres like we have done with Warframe. We believe there’s room to expand the confines of what defines a good FPS and hope our community will see the potential and get on board for the ride.”

From the sounds of it, Keystone seems like a fine retro game which will be blending most of today’s modern game mechanics into a retro-themed environment. Judging by their images, they look quite ‘Retro‘ styled. That being said, we think it will be really unique because of the kind of combination between Different genres of – FPS, MMO, RPG and Strategy it’s going to be.

Another thing is the strategic deck building, it is going to be a key component in the game to be using cards and decks for the kind of strategy the player is going to implement. It’s going to be a pretty rad game from the looks of it, let’s hope it remains so and doesn’t get spoiled by the developers.
