The first act of Siltbreaker, The Sands of Fate, is out now exclusively for Battle Pass owners.
Dota 2 has had a long time of being one of the best PvP MOBAs. However, Valve just announced that a co-op campaign will be available exclusively for battle pass owner. The first act of the proposed two is named “The Sands of Fate” and is out now on steam. Those who do not own battle pass can buy it for $9.99 as a DLC from steam.
As for the story, the players are supposed to form teams of four defenders and must group up on a secret mission to stop the siltbreaker and his followers. All battle pass owners are allowed to journey across vast landscapes filled with hordes of monsters and other lethal terrors.
Playing this mode allows the player to be rewarded with artifacts. They can use these artifacts in each time they play in campaign mode. The purpose of artifacts is not very clear but they must be some kind of buffs for the players that help them face the enemy. it is said that they are mythic objects of power that can be equipped in your inventory as you progress through the challenges of the campaign. Equipped for what? Who knows.
The intro is described in the following words by valve:
As Act I opens, Siltbreaker awakens in the depths of Dark Reef, and the mysterious Conclave of the Brine calls upon you to halt this dark power’s ascent, starting with Siltbreaker’s twisted creation—Rhyzik the Corruptor.
As you fight through multiple levels in search of Rhyzik, you will earn stars based on your performance. The first time you complete a zone with one or two stars will reward you battle points and having three stars performance will grant you a treasure from siltbreaker.
Each Siltbreaker Treasure includes a chance to receive an indescribably-rare Immortal Desert Sands Baby Roshan courier. Furthermore, Battle Pass owners with Battle Level 165 or higher will receive double the treasures for each three-star zone they complete. There are also achievements which grant more Battle Points.
